Life Skills Development
Building Confidence for Everyday Living
Independence is developed through practice, encouragement, and opportunity — met at whatever level each resident is ready for, from building new skills to simply enjoying more comfort in daily routines.
Residents participate in programs that strengthen skills including:
- Personal hygiene
- Cooking and nutrition
- Laundry and housekeeping
- Budgeting and money management
- Time management
- Public transportation
- Technology literacy
- Healthy relationships
- Decision-making
- Personal safety
For residents building toward greater independence, that might mean learning to manage a budget or navigate public transportation. For residents who need full-time support, it might mean mastering a new part of a daily routine or communicating a preference more confidently. Every achievement—large or small—is celebrated.
